:D Hi Everyone , fellow PJProby-phobes!

Thankyou for letting me join your forum and discussion group.I was unfortunately too young to fully appreciate the master of song when he was at his zenith , but I was about 5 or 6 and when prompted would do my "part piece" and wiggle my nethers  and sing to the melody of " Somewhere" , so that song is probably my favourite all time PJP great vocal performance , along with my own of course!

Once again , a gem of a site , and lets keep singing along with one of the all time great showmen ....................

When Michael learned that I was going to the building society for money he locked me in a cupboard so I wouldn't have been able to get to PJ anyway, he's let me out today as the B.S. is closed, he says our savings are for holidays only - what a spoil sport. You wait until I win the lottery I'll get PJ in front of an orchestra at the Albert Hall.
I'll just mention I went to see Alvin Stardust at Camberley Last night - only 55 tickets sold but what a great show, he can't match PJ for voice (nobody can) but 2 hours of entertainment for £17 great. Just in case anybody thinks I've gone crackers, I actually went with a younger friend as she's crazy about him. He did 50s stuff, what about him and PJ getting together for a show? Alvin's backing band are excellent.

As Annie knows, while she was with the "kids" enjoying Alvin I was with the "oldies" enjoying Marty Wilde. He is fabulous! I thought at one time that he was something of a "name" (got into the business at the right time without too much talent). In fact, Annie asked me once if I had anything by him. I (sadly) said that I wasn't a fan. Whoops! Next birthday, an autographed CD by Marty, got before she knew my opinion! (I'm sure I didn't upset her, she still speaks to me). Have seen Marty twice since then and he is special. What is it about these 70 year olds? PJ, Marty, Annie (whoops again, should I say that?).
Anyway, we all love Marty and we all love Alvin (he was Shane Fenton when I first saw him) but we love PJ more (In a masculine sort of way, as far as I'm concerned!).
May I just add, after Annie's four weeks on the Cruise perhaps "Roll out the barrel" or "Food, glorious food" would be her funeral choices!
By the way, this is about PJ's greatest ever vocal performance (I nearly forgot). "I can't make it alone" (the single version) cannot be beaten.

Thanks Ron, I'll have to get my head in focus - perhaps my dear brother would like to come with me to this gig - as I bought him the Marty Wilde cd - fat chance. Anyway Terry have you checked your weight since you got back from the cruise? Let's see what the QM2 brings this next week. You'd think we had nothing better to do than go on cruises - well we haven't, other than trying to fit in gigs with PJ.

hi Everyone,
I know we have all moved on from the topic of what P.J. song we would like played at our passing away church service (I mean funeral but it's a word we're too flippant about apparently). Over on the Delphi Forum they've just read all the postings about the topic started in April & the only two people on there that make any postings these days are most upset with our bad taste.
I've been banned from that forum(even as a guest) but a little bird told me that it's a topic they think we should leave alone. Then again whatever we discuss they find fault with so we can never win.I'm just very happy that their two little insignificant opinions mean nothing.I was advised not to respond to their latest load of poppycock about funerals & also the "masked singer" story as they are not worth it but I just had to.....it will be the last time tho' I promise. If those two are genuine P.J.Proby fans any more then I'll heat my cat!(oh no Delphi, call the RSPCA!)
I've offered more than once to strike a truce but to no avail so bugger it!
Finally Bjorn if you are going to send constant insults my way then try learning English first.
Ron

Hi Ron,

I really can't understand why certain people have problems with funerals and the mentioning of hiring a professional singer to help you through them with dignity and support. Especially when this singer is the person we all agree upon is the best singer ever. It is as if we can't say anything right here. Funerals are very normal and a part of life. The ceremonies are created to help you cope with the loss of a loved one. I think Proby would be a good one at that. Personally it would mean much more to me than all the speeches in the world. There's nothing morbid about it.
Of course everybody is entitled to his own opinion and there for it's good we have two forums, to keep the emotions a bit calm. Still, to me, there is no such thing as two Proby camps. What good would that do? Everybody can choose which discussions they want to join in (unless you're banned of course) and we can coexist happily ever after! I would say, if you don't like their discussions, just don't follow them.. Mind your health!

Take it easy

Hi Manja,
I know where you are coming from advising me not to follow the discussions over on Delphi......but there are things posted on that forum that are so negative & hurtful to P.J.P. & his fans. If certain people talked sense more often then I wouldn't have the urge to reply. From now on I will try 99% not to let their nonsensical Proby ramblings affect me.But of course if the two main culprits don't calm down then there is never going to be the harmony between the 3 Proby forums. The Australian forum is perfect by the way as we all know. The Oz forum & this one were started because there wasn't any harmony in the original Delphi Forum after U.P. stopped running it.You have to run a forum with a velvet glove NOT an iron fist.
I know we are all entitled to our opinions but they go way OTT!I have nothing but admiration for you Manja because even when they criticise you it doesn't affect you one bit!You stay calm & get on with your job.
This is the last time you will hear from me on this subject....I want harmony for the good of P.J.Let's see if can happen now.
Ron
P.S. Wonder of wonders!!..it seems I can get back on the Delphi Forum as a guest...it's a start!!

Hi P.J.Yamas,
A few weeks ago you were trying to obtain various P.J. articles & you came to the conclusion that some were out of stock. How did things go?? Did you get what you wanted?
If you still need certain things just ask....I'm sure Manja or Hannah or even fellow fans will be able to help you.

Hi PJ Yamas

Since I am on line I'm sure Ron won't mind me answering your question. PJ is scheduled to appear at Chatham on 4th October.
That is the nearest venue to London. Keep your eye on the forum for updates. Some of us will be there so do try to get there.
Best wishes
Margaret

Hi PJ Yamas

It's a bit early to book as I don't think Chatham is confirmed yet.
Manja will certainly let us all know as soon as she has more information. Keep checking PJ Live Performances on this forum.
You can also check PJ's schedule by going on TOURS 2009 on the Home page.

I was listening to my MP3 player a couple of months ago and thought that 'Yesterday has Gone' (PJ and Marc Almond) would be very suitable to be played at my funeral. As I am currently having cancer treatment this may be sooner than a lot of other people's on this forum!

As for booking him to sing at my funeral, what a waste not to be there to listen to him.
