Sorry to see Penarth is not going to happen but Chatham is certainly good news for those living in the London and Southeast areas. Let's have a few more please!

Hi Manja

Could you please tell me the venue for the Manchester performance. We are going to Mexico in a few days and I was hoping to book tickets before we go. Normal flights have been resumed to Mexico and the Foreign Office say it's safe to travel so just hope we don't come back with swine flu!

Hi Elaine,

If I haven't told you the name of the venue in Manchester yet, it's because I don't know. I always give you all the news as soon as I hear it myself. I've asked Debra Franks several times for this information, but no answer. Neither to my question about the venue in Great Yarmouth.
On the Vanity Fare website http://www.vanityfare.co.uk/giglist.htm it says Vauxhall for Great Yarmouth and I just found that one with google:
Autumn Gold Weekend in Vauxhall Holiday Park:
http://www.goldweekenders.co.uk/gold-october-2009.html
It sounds good, with a lot of other real acts, like The Animals. Prices from £70 per person for the whole weekend.

Good Luck with Manchester! There's one consolidation: if it's not advertised yet it won't be sold out.!

Hi Guys!

I've finally received some information:

The Manchester Show on 11 September will be in Middleton Arena, Greater Manchester:
For Box Office - tickets sales and events enquiries ring 0844 855 4020!
It's not on their website yet.
www.middletonarena.com

The 4 October show is in Central Theatre, Chatham, 01634 338338

CHATHAM 4th October......here I come!
Burntwood Wakes (near Lichfield) 9th August too!
So I've got two Proby gigs & also the new cd to look forward too.......being a Proby fan just makes me happy!
Told you this was the place with vitamin P! You can make up your own mind what the "P" stands for.......to me it means positive!!The opposite of that word does not exist in my mind!

Hi Everybody,

A little update.
12 September Skegness is not happening.
11 September Manchester doesn't look like it's happening either. Nothing on the website of the theatre. As I understand it some of you had already bought tickets for Manchester. Better check it out with the theatre
4 October Chatham is happening but will be an Oh Boy Show, not a Proby & Friends show.
This leaves us with only three Proby&Friends shows. One in Bournemouth and two in Scotland.....
Very sad indeed.

Hi Manja,
It is a pity that some of the gigs are being cancelled.Any particular reason?
However as usual we will all try to stay positive & hope that Robert Pratt will soon give us some reasons to be that way.I have a lot of faith in him but of course he needs a little time to get into the groove again with P.J. & then we'll see some action I'm sure!
It's a shame that some Proby fans have had the bad news that their local P.J. gig is off but speaking purely selfishly, so far, the two gigs I'll be attending are still on (Burntwood Wakes & Chatham) & I'm keeping everything crossed (& I mean everything!) that these happen.

I'm pleased to see that Christchurch is still on, I have my ticket and hope to catch up with anybody else who will be there - I'll be on my own but who cares as long as PJ is there also.
It's almost like the old days, wondering whether the man will turn up - I would like to know why venues have been cancelled - is it due to lack of bookings? I had intended going to the Wales gig, I'd even talked Michael into going there as he has family in the area, then it was off so I had to turn my attention to another venue, Bournemouth being fairly close won the day and I've talked Michael into spending a weekend down there - not going to the concert of course, he found Hemsby too much for him - silly old codger!!!! Anybody out there going to Christchurch? Let me know I'd like to meet up if possible.

Whilst on I just want to say a word for Michael Jackson who died last night, what a great talent lost to us all, I thought he was a magnificent showman, I'm sure our thoughts are with his family - especially his children.

Hi Manja

We're back from Mexico - no signs of swine flu up to now! Is the Manchester show definitely off? I rang the Middleton Arena at the end of last week and they didn't seem too sure what was happening, and they didn't have any tickets on sale.

Hi Elaine,

After Debra cancelled the Proby&Friends show for Manchester she has now turned the show on 11 September into an "Oh Boy" show with Dave Berry and without Chris Farlowe and P.J. Proby.
So if y'all bought tickets you may want to go and get your money back!!!

Hi Manja,
What is Debra playing at? With all respect to her & the Franks family I do not believe Derek would ever have got up to such tricks!!....she's confusing everyone! Dave Berry is great but P.J. is a class higher.Perhaps it's all down to what budget she is working on but what's her nick name? "The Steamroller"?
Some managers & promoters treat the stars with respect..others sadly do not!

Sorry about the confusion about Chatham.
Debra has just told us it's a Proby&Friends show after all and not an "Oh Boy, It's the Non-Stop Sixties!" Show.

So we now have:

P.J. Proby & Friends
30 August Christchurch
25 September Glenrothes
27 September Glasgow
4 October Chatham

Oh Boy... It's The Non-Stop Sixties
10 October Great Yarmouth

I have to inform y'all that as Debra states, the shows are all happening "subject to contract". At the moment we're waiting for Debra to return the signed contracts.
I'll let you know as soon as all the shows are 100% confirmed.
